Opening a business bank account is one of the essentials to run a business.
In Singapore, there are many banks to chose from.
The most popular bank here is DBS Bank, we can see it's ATM everywhere in island-wide.
Though, one of my business-owner-friends mentioned that she chose OCBC Bank, not DBS.
When I was searching for the Bank info, I found a useful website which contains a comparison chart of major three banks.
Looking at this chart, I chose OCBC bank to minimize the fixed cost.
After choosing a bank, these are 4 Steps what I did to open an account;
That's all! Very simple.
I was not required to bring neither a company registration letter, nor a company stamp, as the bank can check my business record with my company registration number.

The interview went well.
After the representative's explanations about the fees and all, I passed a cheque of initial deposit to her and was told that I would receive a SMS & e-mail about my new account number. It has arrived after two working days.
And within 2 weeks, I have received debit card and token for net banking.
Finally, my business is ready to Roll!

- Walked into one of the branches and asked the required documents for account opening
- Made an appointment with one of the business account representatives
- Visit a branch with required documents (IC/Cheque book for initial deposit) and had a interview with a representative
- Write a cheque for initial deposit
That's all! Very simple.

- 最寄の支店に行き、法人口座開設に必要な書類などを確認
- 法人口座開設用の電話番号を教えられ、その番号に電話しアポを取る
- 必要書類(身分証名書/小切手) を持参し、担当行員と面接
- 初期入金用の小切手を面接後に手渡し
事前に会社の登録番号を伝えておいたせいか、社印や法人登録証明書などは一切求められませんでした。個人の印鑑さえ、サインを登録するので不要です。
開設時の面接できかかれた内容は以下のとおり；
- 主な商業活動
- 主な収入源
- 月間予想取引額
- 月間予想オンライン取引件数
- 年間予想収支額（収益額ではありません）
以上の質問に回答したあと、口座種類や諸費用の説明を受け、明日には携帯に口座番号を知らせるメッセージが届くことを伝えられました。
OCBCでは初期入金として＄500以上が必要で、半年以内に残高を最低$3000キープしていないとFall Below Feeというメンテナンス代が月額$35発生します。
初期入金用の小切手を手渡し、口座開設は約４５分ほどで終了しました。
翌日に連絡があるときいていたのに、実際には口座番号の連絡は翌々日に届き、デビットカードやトークンは２週間以内に普通郵便で届きました。
受け取り後の本人確認などはなく、受け取ったカードは銀行のサイトから簡単にアクティベイトできました。
”ACROS SG”が印刷されたカードを受け取り、これから始まる私のビジネスにとてもワクワクしています。
